As many of our patients are already aware, South Surrey Smiles takes a great deal of pride in making a number of charitable donations and holding fundraisers in support of many worthy causes all year long. Each April is Daffodil Month, which is dedicated to raising funds and awareness in support of cancer research. So many families are affected by cancer each year, which is why it is important to continue to contribute to charities like the Canadian Cancer Society so we can get closer to finding a cure for this horrible disease.
Last year, South Surrey Smiles hosted a patient appreciation event at Menchie’s frozen yogurt that over 800 people attended. With so many faces turning out to our event last year, and since April was Daffodil Month for cancer awareness, we decided to make the most of this event, and use it to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research. Just like the year before, the friendly staff members from South Surrey Smiles were on hand to pay for everyone’s frozen yogurt (up to $5.00), and we had another fantastic turn out that helped us raise a great deal of money that will all go towards cancer research. Many of our loyal patients also wore yellow to show their support for cancer research, which was fantastic to see.
The event held on April 14th at Menchie’s in Morgan Crossing, South Surrey, was a complete success. With help from our amazing patients and wonderful community, we were able to raise $659.72. Thank you to everyone for their donations and support! It is so heartwarming to see our community join together to fight cancer. The event was also a great opportunity to educate the public in their oral health. Our speciality, Orthodontics, is something we are passionate in teaching and sharing with families in our community. It is our goal to help as many people as possible get the beautiful and healthy smile they have always wanted, and we definitely had a great time connecting with new potential patients.
