Q: How does Invisalign work?

A: Invisalign treatment is the process of wearing a series of clear, removable aligners that gradually straighten your teeth. No brackets and wires, and none of the restrictions that come with metal braces. Our orthodontist will create a unique, digital treatment plan that maps out the exact movements of your teeth. Your Invisalign clear aligners are then designed to apply the right amount of force to the right place at the right time based on your plan.

A: Invisalign clear aligners are virtually invisible — people may not even notice you’re wearing them. You can remove them to eat and drink, to brush and floss, or for special occasions. There are no metal brackets or wires that could irritate your mouth or break, sending you to your doctor for an emergency visit.

A: In most cases, the cost of Invisalign treatment is similar to the cost of braces. Our team will determine the cost of your treatment based on how complex your case is and how many aligners you need.

A: While worn, Invisalign aligners are subtle and barely noticeable, but they still provide effective treatment with predictable, long-lasting results. In fact, Invisalign treatment in certain cases may be even more effective than braces, due to the all-around force of the aligners across the whole tooth.

A: Every Invisalign treatment is custom made to suit the exact needs of individual patients. For this reason, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all answers to this question. While that’s the case, an average Invisalign treatment will often last anywhere from 12 to 18 months – but there are always exceptions to that.

A: Yes! Invisalign treatment can be a great solution for both adults and teens looking for a virtually invisible method to improve their smile. Invisalign’s innovations and technological advancements make it possible to fix nearly all common teeth-straightening and bite issues, from simple to complex — all without interrupting your busy life.

A: To clean your aligners, brush each aligner with a toothbrush and toothpaste. To freshen them up, you can also soak them in lukewarm water with a denture tablet. Make sure the water is not hot.

A: In the event that you lose your Aligner, you will need to wear your previous Aligner to maintain the position of your teeth while we order a new aligner for you. This is why it is important to keep all old aligners until your treatment has completed. Place them back into their numbered bag and store them.
