Q: How do braces work?

A: Braces use brackets and wires to place gentle and continuous pressure to gradually move teeth into their proper positions. The brackets are glued onto your teeth and when the wire is placed into the brackets, the wire tries to return to its original shape, thereby moving the teeth into more ideal position.

Clear braces are another option to lessen the visibility of braces; they blend in with the teeth for a more natural effect.
