Invisalign Treatment Procedure

1. Consult with an Invisalign Provider

During your initial consultation, we will discuss your concerns and case in depth to determine if Invisalign is right for you. A modern alternative to traditional braces, Invisalign straightens teeth while being practically invisible. Invisalign can address various concerns, from simple to complex cases, ensuring proper alignment and enhanced confidence are possible for a wide range of patients. You will also have the chance to ask any questions you may have about the Invisalign treatment, the cost, your insurance, or any other orthodontic concerns.

At South Surrey Smiles, we use the iTero Element Scanner to capture digital impressions of your teeth and gums. From this scan, we can create a 3D model of your mouth, which will be used to create a personalized treatment plan and map out the exact movements of your teeth. The iTero Element Scanner will also show you how your teeth will look at every stage.

Using your tailored treatment plan, you will receive a series of custom-made, clear aligners made from smooth BPA-free plastic. Since these are created just for you, you won't need to worry about the aligners irritating your gums or cheeks like traditional braces sometimes do. You can also remove them for easy cleaning and to maintain a good oral health routine with regular brushing and flossing. As your teeth gradually shift, you will progress through your series of aligners, each one getting you a step closer to that perfect, straight smile.

As you advance through your Invisalign treatment, you will switch to new sets of aligners every 1 to 2 weeks. During this time, you will come in for occasional check-ups to monitor your progress, which will be scheduled roughly 6 weeks apart. To ensure success, it is essential that your aligners are worn for 20 to 22 hours each day throughout your entire treatment.

Every case is unique to the individual; however, Invisalign treatment usually takes between 12 to 18 months to complete. Depending on the complexity of your case, it could be more or less, but rest assured the end result will be worth it! Once you have made your way through every set of custom clear aligners, there will be nothing left to do but show off your beautiful straight teeth.
