South Surrey Smiles hosted a patient appreciation event at Menchie’s in Morgan Crossing on March 27, 2015. Our team was down at Menchie’s giving out free frozen yogurt to anyone who came down that afternoon from 2:00PM – 5:00PM. This gave us the opportunity to give back to both our patients and our community.
Aside from the free Menchies, our team was there to educate the public on the benefits of seeing an orthodontist and what we specialize in. We welcomed any new patients for complimentary consultations. Over 800 people showed up to the event; we saw new faces as well as familar faces, met some of our neighbours and were introduced to our patients friends. We handed out balloons and sunglasses to the kids and played music outside for everyone to dance to.This was a fun-filled afternoon enjoyed by all.
The biggest win for us from this event was scheduling a new patient who was 7 years old. He had never been to a dentist and his first time ever having his teeth looked at was at South Surrey Smiles. We were able to turn this nervous patient into one who felt comfortable. We had the chance to educate his parents on the importance of regular dental check ups and referred him out to meet a great dentist in our community. Although he is not ready for orthodontic treatment, we will continue to monitor his growth and development. This is one way that we are able to really give back. Educating the public is something we are extremely passionate about.
Overall, the Menchies event was a huge success. We are looking forward to hosting more community events in the future. Stay tuned for South Surrey Smiles in the community and thanks for joining us!
