At South Surrey Smiles, we are always happy to provide encouragement and congratulations to our patients when they achieve personal goals and milestones. Staying informed about our patients lives and achievements allows us to maintain a close, positive relationship, which helps people feel comfortable and happy when they visit our office. We also love hearing how well our patients are doing when we see them, since it goes a long way towards brightening our days too! Recently, our very own Dr. Lesley Williams was honoured by her colleagues and peers in the dentistry industry with her induction into the International College of Dentists, and we are all so excited to share this wonderful news!
The International College of Dentists is one of the oldest and most prestigious societies for dentists all over the world. Since 1920, the ICD has been committed to improving and enhancing the dentistry industry by working together to better serve patients all over the world. Currently, the College has over 12,000 members, and now included among them is the wonderful Dr. Williams! At the induction ceremony in May, Dr. Williams was recognized by her colleagues for her outstanding professional achievements and her commitment to improving the field of dentistry for the betterment of humankind. Along with Dr. Williams, her twin sister , Dr. Michelle Williams was posthumously inducted into the International College of Dentists as well. In her speech, Dr. Williams paid a sincere and heartfelt tribute to her late sister, and all who were present were moved by Dr. Williams’ words of love and encouragement.
Becoming a Fellow in the College is based solely on an invitation, and with that invitation comes a rigorous peer review process. Everyone at South Surrey Smiles is extremely proud of Dr. Williams for making it through this process successfully in order to become a member of such a prestigious and progressive group of professionals. The International College of Dentists is represented in 122 counties worldwide, and is involved in a great deal of charities such as the Global Visionary Fund and the Misch Legacy Endowment. Both of these charitable initiatives were created by the College to advance oral healthcare and education around the world. With Dr. Williams recent induction into the ICD, her expertise and generosity will be able to reach people all over the world, so like our patients at South Surrey Smiles, dental patients around the world can have a brighter smile as well!
