Meet Dr. Brandon Huang!
New Mandarin Speaking Orthodontist at South Surrey Smiles!

Dr. Brandon Huang is originally from Taiwan and speaks fluent English and Mandarin (精通中英文). After spending his adolescent years in Vancouver, Dr. Huang moved to Toronto and obtained his Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Toronto. Then, he returned home and received his Master of Science in Biochemistry from the University of British Columbia and published several original scientific articles in heart disease research. In recognition of his academic excellence, Dr. Huang was offered a position at Columbia University School of Dental Medicine (美國長春藤 – 哥倫比亞大學) for his Doctor of Dental Surgeon. With an additional two years of rigorous specialist training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, Dr. Huang received his Orthodontic Specialist Certificate and Master of Science in Bone Biology and published more scientific articles from the University of Minnesota. Upon graduation, Dr. Huang was recruited by his program director to join his private practice in Rochester, Minnesota before Dr. Huang decided to return to hometown Vancouver.
Being well-versed from conventional braces to Invisalign® (隱適美 隱形矯正) to the latest technology involving skeletal anchorage device (mini-implant) and accelerated orthodontics, Dr. Huang takes pride in keeping up with the most current evidence based technology to provide effective, efficient, and comfortable orthodontic treatment for his patients of all ages (children and adults). Dr. Huang is a fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and serves as a part-time clinical instructor at the dental school of UBC. Dr. Huang also serves as a board member of the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of BC and is currently under training to become a Royal College of Dentists of Canada examiner. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Huang is also an avid golfer, snowboarder and plays the guitar.
